“Shooting super 16mm was… a subtle nod to our references from the MTV era… I arrived in Richmond, VA with just the Arri SR3, super speed lenses, and four 400’ reels of 7219. True Body’s intent to show the niche spirit of their hometown was lent a sense of immediacy as we optimized shooting for our small supply of film.

The backdrops the band provided - the hearse, the mausoleum in Richmond's Hollywood Cemetery, and the James River - all have a timeless aura thanks to the structure and grain inherent in film. Our colorist Kris Smale really dialed in that feeling…”
